Main Conflicts and Resolutions

Main ConflictsThe main conflict of the book is that Harvey is not able to leave Mr. Hood's Holiday House. At first he his blinded by the house and all the fun he has there, but as weird things start to happen and he notices things aren't right he wants to leave. He tries to leave but the exit is covered in fog and he is unable to get out. He needs the help of Wendell, but Wendell refuses to help at first.
Now, the next conflict is that they need to get back and destroy Mr. Hood's House so that no other child will ever be stuck there again. They go back and right away Wendell is entranced by the house so Harvey has to leave him. Harvey then finds Mrs. Griffin in the basement almost dead. Harvey realizes that the only way to get his time that was spent at the house back is to destroy the house. He finds out that he has to go to the top of the house to find "Mr. Hood". He is attacked by beasts, but he manages to find them off and he reaches "Mr. Hood". |
Main ResolutionsWendell agrees to come with Harvey and try to escape. They are successful and then realize that they were trapped in a time warp and a lot more time than they had originally thought had went by.
Harvey manages to defeat "Mr. Hood" and he returns back to his family. Harvey then realizes that time is the most important thing in the world and he promises himself that he'll never waste a moment of time again. |
