Mr. Hood's House
Mr. Hood's House is where probably 90% of the book occurs. At first when Harvey comes the house looks very warm and inviting. "It was a proud house, certainly, but there was nothing wrong with that; it had much to be proud of." (page 24). It makes you want to come inside and discover all the wonders that lay inside. Mrs. Griffin, as an old, little lady, standing outside the house also attributes to the house look inviting. Who wouldn't want to go inside a nice, wonderful house that smells of great food that an old grandma has cooked up. The house also goes through each season throughout the course of just one day. During 'Halloween' when Jive is trying to get Harvey to kill Wendell the house suddenly seems more menacing. After Harvey goes to the house for the second time, it's like deja vu of the first encounter with the house. The house looks very nice and there is overwhelming smell of tasty food. The house pulls in it's victims and until Harvey, no one had ever escaped.
